Joel David Beal, a 35-year-old former US soldier from Skull Valley, Arizona (lived in Portland, Oregon), callsign Gander, was killed alongside two other foreign mercenaries in a clash with the Russian army in July/August 2023. He was a member of The Chosen Company.
